All the nuggets of gold on one page!Wednesday 14 October: Manapouri to Milford Sound
We left Manapouri this morning and headed North - destination Milford Sound. On the way we stopped (withg hundreds of Japanese tourists) and admired the Mirror lakes - which do just what the name suggests.
Then, a bit further up the road, we left the tourists behind and found a well hidden and not well known walkwire.
Further still up the road we hiked up the Key Summit track to see some amazing views - a bit tiring this one.
Then the first part of the Marian lake walk as far as the gantries for some amazing river views. Then a relatively short walk to the viewing point for the Humboldt falls - seen from a distance.
Tonight we stay in Milford Sound Lodge ready for our kayaking trip into the sound which starts at 7 tomorrow morning.
